He is 22 years old. Matěj Hošek. Known by his artistic name, MAATTY.
A young man who was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list last year.
He is autistic. He lives in his own world. He has no friends. He studies fine arts at university and enjoys cycling.
But above all, he paints. And draws. Every single day.
It all began twelve years ago with maps. He was trying to put his world onto paper. Imaginary maps, but real ones too. In recent years, however, he has been exploring new techniques and experimenting with new subjects. Portraits, for example. Or architectural structures. He has already illustrated four books.
His work is beginning to attract attention from gallery owners, not only in the Czech Republic. In fact, he recently signed a contract with Mr. Kodl of KODL Gallery. His paintings are also generating interest at auctions.
Matěj grew up in an environment where practically every wall is covered with framed works of art, particularly lithographs. It is therefore no surprise that, back in 2017, he first entered the legendary lithography workshop on Říční Street in Prague, where he created his very first lithograph.
Since then, he has created 26 lithographs.
His latest lithograph was created in October 2026 and is titled MAAPPA V.
MAATTY has already reserved the lithography workshop (along with his trusted master printer, Matěj Bouda) for another session this December. And then four more sessions in 2027.
Life will not be easy for Matěj. Integrating into mainstream society will be – and already is – extremely challenging for him.
That is why we decided to establish the FRIENDS OF MAATTY LITHOGRAPHY CLUB.
A club with one simple purpose: to support Matěj on his journey through life.
Only 60 members.
Each year, four lithographs will be created: two large-format and two medium-format works. Each in a limited edition of 60 prints.
If you decide to join the Club, your first lithograph in this inaugural series will be the latest work from October 2026 – MAAPPA V.
Those who join the Club now will receive their next lithograph this December, followed by another in March 2027.
Then in June 2027, October 2027, and so on…
Some people may choose to remain members for just one year. Others may build an extensive collection over many years of membership.
What makes this model so special is that members receive their lithographs in person (usually delivered by Matěj’s father). In fact, it is often only at the moment of delivery that they discover what Matěj has created.
You may be an art collector.
Perhaps you know little about art, but you simply love MAATTY’s work.
Perhaps you see it as a form of investment.
Perhaps you decide to display these lithographs in the public spaces of your company.
There are many possibilities. Everyone has their own reason for joining.

The Lithography Technique
Lithography is an artistic printing technique that uses a stone surface. It was the last of the fundamental printmaking techniques to be invented. As the principal and most widespread form of planographic printing, it complements relief printing (letterpress) and intaglio printing. Of all printmaking methods, lithography comes closest to drawing directly on paper. It faithfully preserves the character of the artist’s hand and offers a wide range of techniques that can be combined. This gives the artist an exceptionally broad range of expressive possibilities.

Questions and Answers
Only 60 members.
Every year, Matěj creates four lithographs: two large-format and two medium-format works, each in an edition of 60 prints.
The first lithograph in the original cycle was LINIE II, created in April 2022.
Members who joined the club received the following lithographs in June, October and December 2022, followed by April and June 2023, and so on.
Some members may choose to stay for only one year, while others may build a substantial collection over time. The special part of this model is that each lithograph is delivered in secure packaging, and members only discover what Matěj has created when they open it.
We have thought of this option as well. We can send the very first lithograph directly to the recipient and explain in the accompanying letter that the gift is from you. To arrange this, please contact us at info@maappi.com. We will handle everything individually.
Simply enter your name, email address and phone number in the form above. We will arrange the rest with each applicant personally. You may want the same print number from every edition, or you may prefer to receive every lithograph already framed. Sixty members, sixty different stories.
If the delivery address is in Prague, you may receive your first print on the same day. For addresses elsewhere in the Czech Republic, delivery takes no more than three working days.
Each lithograph created during a membership cycle is initially available only to registered members. If an edition is not fully allocated to the maximum membership of 60, the remaining prints may become available to non-members no earlier than six months after that lithograph is introduced.
Yes. Please bear in mind that each club membership cycle always consists of four lithographs. If you are interested, email us at info@maappi.com and we will get back to you.
Works by Tomáš Bím hang all over our home. So I drew Mr Bím too.
This is my world. This is where my lithographs are created.
